Universal Forest Products and Goldin Building Systems Partner to Serve Gulf Coast Market

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 14, 2006--Universal Forest Products, Inc. (NASDAQ:UFPI) and Mississippi-based Goldin Building Systems have joined forces to serve builders in the Mississippi and Louisiana Gulf Coast region with trusses and other engineered building components.

Gulf Coast Components LLC, in Gulfport, Mississippi, will serve area builders with roof and floor trusses, wall panels and other lumber products. The business is expected to be operational by the end of the third quarter of 2006. The plant will be located on a 10-acre site in Gulfport.

The capabilities of Universal Forest Products, a national leader in engineered building components based in Michigan, and the strengths of Goldin Building Systems, a manufacturer with a strong local presence and history in Mississippi, combine to provide the knowledge and skills of a local manufacturing firm with the powerful engineering and manufacturing expertise of Universal.
